DRIVER & MOVER

At the Second Chance Resale & Adoption Center, we want to make it as easy as possible for people to donate new or gently used items. Sometime these items are large and heavy, like furniture or tools, and sometimes people don’t have a way of transporting their items to the store. These are also sometimes the items that are most valuable and sought after. Individuals can schedule pick ups for free by calling the store and letting our staff know where and what items need to be picked up. Generally, we can pick up donations within 1 to 2 weeks.

We need volunteers who can help us pick up donated items from members of the community. For this role, we are looking for volunteers that can help with lifting furniture, loading heavy items into a truck and unloading these items at the store. A truck from Charleston Animal Society is used for the transport of larger items and you will always be paired with a staff member.
